Empowerhouse was founded by veteran actor Melissa Thompson Esaia, and has become an artistic home for actors. Pan Theater
Pan Theater, which was established in February 2002, is the oldest improv theatre in Easy Bay. They offer improv classes in Oakland, and even have a site in Tokyo, Japan. Their alumni have gone onto graduate school in conservatory and theatre programs and had successful careers in stand up comedy and acting. Others have used their experience at Pan Theater to enhance both their personal and professional lives.
