The latest season of Stranger Things has wrapped and Stranger Things Season 5 Auditions will be held and taking place for filming soon.
If you haven't seen it yet, the official trailer has been released for Season 5 – this does not mean they are done filming!
There will still be opportunities for actors, but you should still check out the trailer.
We're sad to see the fourth Stranger Things come to an end, but the good news is that it opens the door for aspiring actors to take part in the 5th season.

How to Audition for Stranger Things:
First, to be completely transparent, honest and set expectations accordingly.
Stranger Things has blown up to be one of the most popular television shows on Netflix.
Stranger Things is binge watched by millions of people, and the kids, teens and adults who star in the show have catapulted to stardom.
When a show becomes as as popular and successful as Stranger Things has become, the casting directors become more selective with who they choose to audition or attend casting calls.
Usually, at this point in a series you see more privately negotiated castings between directors and talent agencies and agents.
If you want a recurring role or a main character role in the series you're probably going to need an agency, an agent and a significant amount of experience.
Are Stranger Things Auditions Secret?
Depending on the role, Yes.
Without spoiling too much – News recently broke out that a new major character on the Series did not even know what she was auditioning for. were auditioning for Stranger Things when they attended their casting call.
This actor literally had no idea what they were auditioning for.
However, she ended up having a major role in the 3rd season.
Smaller roles, non speaking rolls, background actors and other non major characters are typically not “secret auditions”.
Small roles are posted to the internet all the time, and we'll make sure to post them to this page when they are public.
Do You Need Experience to Audition for Stranger Things?
With all of that being said open casting calls do still happen. Mostly for smaller roles or background actors/extras.
Does it mean you're going to become a household name like the other kids on the show? No. Probably not, but it's a cool way to get experience.
It also gives you the opportunity to be on set with some of your favorite actors from the show and earn some decent money while doing something really cool.
According to this article at Chron, Background Actors/Movie Extras typically make around $170 per day.
All things considered, it's being an extra is a pretty awesome gig.
Tips for Stranger Things Auditions:
The casting director for Stranger Things recently gave aspiring kid actors several tips and pieces of advice for pursing an acting career.
First, if you plan to audition for a series as big as Stranger Things Season 5, you’ll most likely need a talent agency and talent agent.
Carmen says that is where most of the talent are requested directly from talent agents and talent agencies.
Second, experience is important, but not 100% necessary.
You might be surprised to know that Stranger Things was actually the first big gig for a lot of the actors on the show .
Some of the kids had experience, but many of the actors had little to no experience
Third, you need to practice, practice, practice.
If you're of the lucky few to attend a Stranger Things 5 Casting Call, then you need to nail it.
You can't just walk in and blow casting directors away when you're likely going up against other actor who have been doing this for years .
Practice and get comfortable so you're ready for if and when your big casting call day comes.
Where will Stranger Things 5 Auditions Take Place?
Auditions will likely take place in Atlanta, GA.
Previous seasons of Stranger Things have been filmed in Atlanta, so we believe future auditions will also be held in ATL.
That's just our best guess, though. Details have not been released.
When will Stranger Things 5 Auditions Take Place?
Most likely Spring.
Historically, after the last couple of seasons there has been a 6-12 month rest period after the latest season wraps before the team starts finding shoot locations, polishing story lines and you guessed it – holding auditions and open casting calls.
You can count on casting directors to start looking for talent after 6 months, maybe 12 months.
auditions for small roles on Stranger Things Season 5 are posted with a 1-2 week notice.
So even if the show is filming the last episode, they might not request actors until a week before it's finished.
