These are typically smaller roles, background or extra work and they are welcome to mostly everyone to partake in (so long as you fit the description).
You won't find many main character roles posted to the internet as open casting calls. However, it does happen.
How to Audition for Netflix: Beware of Scams
Do your homework, find out if the casting call is legit, find out who the casting director is for the show or movie and make sure everything matches up.
If they ask you to pay a fee in order to audition for a specific role, it's most likely a scam.
If all else fails, take your mother's advice – if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
How to Audition for Netflix: Preparation is Everything
You can and should prepare. Do your homework, find out as much as you can about the role and become that character in preparation for your big day.
As an aspiring actor you can and should be taking acting classes and participating in your local theater.
